ABOUT ME

Hello,
My name is Marta Bilecka. I graduated from Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz (2002), Faculty of Graphics & Painting. I live and work in Lodz, Poland.

Creative Activities

    The essence of my water landscape is space, as well as a simplified form of interpretation of nature painted in relation to places existing on any beaches in the world or bordering on a fairy tale. The climates contained in them are peaceful Baltic and Scandinavian memories, enriched with the warm shade of seas and oceans, which become a source of artistic interpretations for me. I draw inspiration both from travels to real places and from fantasy books. In my work, I use both the workshop acquired in all my art schools, years of painting practice, and, above all, I use the immeasurable resources of my unlimited imagination.
     As I explore different forms of space in my water landscapes, the elements of the sky, and in particular the clouds, begin to play an increasingly important role, which are becoming a new field of creative exploration for me.
     Clouds fascinate me with their variability and unpredictability, they are unique compositions - from lazily floating clouds to dynamic, stormy formations. I try to capture not only their shape, but also the mood that accompanies their presence. Trees, on the other hand, are a contrast to the ethereal clouds. They are a symbol of stability, life and growth. Both clouds and trees offer endless possibilities of interpretation, and their presence in my paintings introduces a new perspective and space for discovering emotions and meanings.

My landscape painting opens up a space where there is room for reflection on reality and allows for a journey to the Happy Islands.

As part of numerous exhibitions, I had the opportunity to present my works outside Poland also in Scandinavia: Norway: Galleri Nobel, Oslo (2019-2022); Gallei S9, Oslo (2014-2020); Sweden: Kunstrundan in Fabriken Bastekille (2019-2021) Kivik; Gallerii A-Ramar, Goteborg (2019); Art Affair Stockholm (2019), Kiruna (2016); and Denmark - Galleria Tornby (2023, North Jutland), Bindslev; (2015, 2014) Horning.In Southern Europe: Mallorca Deluxe Real Estate, Mallorca (Spain) 2022.
My paintings are in private collections in Europe: Poland, Spain, Austria, France and Northern Europe, as well as in Canada and on the Asian art market.
